The Ship Departments has been renamed to
Ship Life. Repurposing this section
gives us a place to share not only member perspectives on the areas of the ship but also
life on-board.
We have a new article written by Roger Chagnon about the "Best Job on a Destroyer", from
his point of view of course. Jokes aside, go check it out, hope you enjoy it.

Did You Know?
While scouring through the internet for books or more information about the USS Hanson
we found a special person that served aboard the ship. The subject's name is
Salvatore Albert Lombino,
or AKA Ed McBain, the writer/screenwriter.
He wrote his first murder mystery titled "Chalk" while serving
on the Hanson. After receiving positive reviews form his fellow sailors he decided to become a writer.
In his memory, we have added him to our crew roster under his
birth name. Salvatore Albert Lombino,
1926-2005.

I wish to extent a thanks to all those who have contributed, and would like to see more stories come our way. No matter
how unimportant you may think your memories are, we can let history
decide that. So go ahead and sit down and start writing,

yet, this is your opportunity to get
it out for the world to see it.
As always, thanks to all of you for your service and God bless.
